Elbow Angle

Mike Dunn recently uploaded a post on instagram talking about the elbow angle of the shooting hand.  I also noticed that on Klay Thompson’s shooting that I watched on YouTube a few days ago.  When the ball is at the set point, the angle should be very close to 90 degrees (maybe like 80 degrees).  And he mentioned that the angle should be kept while going from the 1-position to the 2-position.

Then I looked at the slow motion videos of my shots.  The angle “collapses” when it’s at the 2-position also because I adjusted the 2-position to be around my chin.  Also, my elbow is pointing down as opposed to the upper arm being parallel to the ground.

Tomorrow, I’m gonna see how it feels if I try to keep the angle close to 90 degrees.  Today, for the first time, I couldn’t wake up without a good reason. It’s a Sunday, so it could be my rest day, but I even went to bed early last night.  Anyways.  I haven’t skipped more than once each week, so it’s not too bad.
